How does the points calculator work?

Overall % = (total points earned ÷ total points possible) × 100. Add each assignment’s earned and possible points.

Is this the same as weighted grades?

No. Points mode treats every point equally. For syllabus category weights, use the weighted calculator.

Can I mix extra credit?

Yes — enter earned points above possible for that row, or add an extra-credit row with possible = 0 carefully (possible 0 rows are skipped). Prefer earned > possible on a normal row.

Does drop-lowest apply here?

Not in points mode. Use category mode on the weighted calculator for drop-lowest N.
